All over the world and even in our own community, there are children whose parents do not earn enough money at their jobs to give their kids the things they need to live well. Children need healthy food, warm clothes and good medical care. When they do not have these basic things, their lives can be difficult and unhappy. |

"I was in bed reading with my mom and I heard that some kids don't have pajamas and books, so I wanted to help. Last year I collected 200 pajamas and 200 books."
"Emma of Florida held a school supply drive for kids who live at a local shelter. She collected over $500 worth of items to donate. She wants to make sure that all kids have the supplies they need to start the school year off right."
From PBS Kids You Can Help Kids
One of our very own Coman Hill students had a great idea and donated books to a children's hospital! Read the paragraph below to see how she got her idea.
Donate your used clothing and toys. You can donate clothes you have outgrown and toys you don't play with to an organization that helps children.
Plan a coat drive. Hundreds of underprivileged children need warm winter clothing each year. Ask your parents to help you donate clean, used coats, hats, scarves, and gloves that you have outgrown.
Give books that you have read to a family shelter.
Have a lemonade sale in your driveway. Then donate the money you earn to the cause you want to support.
